Chambok Ecotourism Site was established in 2002 under support from an Environmental NGO called Mlup Baitong. Situated next to Kirirom National Park, Chambok has a lot of attractions and activities to offer to both local and international tourists who are interested in nature. It is well known for its three streams, including the biggest waterfall with over 40 meters.

There are many services provided at Chambok for tourists such as:

– Tourists can take guided tours to one of those streams and enjoy the views while hiking through the forest. The English speaking guides will tell a lot about animals living in the forests and plants growing there.
– Tourists can stay at the homestay and enjoy the interaction with the host to exchange the culture and other life’s experiences
– Tourists can take ox-cart to tour around the site including seeing the lifestyle of community people there
– Tourists can enjoy having meal at the community restaurant
– Tourists can enjoy experiencing the local performance at the community hall
– Tourists can experience planting rice and other vegetables in site the community

According to Mr. Touch Morn, Chief of The Chambok Ecotourism Site mentioned that “The community used to attract the visitors of 1,200 per month before the Covid-19 pandemic. However, during the pandemic since early of 2020, the number of visitors have decreased to 20 people only per month. This has leaded to the dropping down of revenue from 8 million Khmer Riel (2,000USD) to 150,000 Khmer Riel (36USD) per month only. He urged for the local visitors to come to Chambok after the situation of Covid-19 is better.
