Thmatboey (TB)

Thmatboey CBET site was established in 2005 under support from SVC (Sam Veasna Center) in partnership with WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society). Thmatboey is located within the largest remaining area of dry deciduous forest in South East Asia. It harbors a lot of endangered bird species such as the White Shouldered Ibis and Giant Ibis. Visitors can take a guided tour to experience and learn more about birds and their habitats. This ecotourism site tries to stop hunting on endangered bird species.

Location

Thmatboey is located in Kulen Promtep Wildlife Sanctuary in the North of Cambodia. Thmatboey is about 4 hours away from Siem Reap Town or 7 hours from Phnom Penh. During the dry season Thmatboey can be reached by 4-wheel drive vehicles. During the rain season motorbikes have to be used for the last 2km.
